I packed my heels, dress, secret Santa gift, passport, Euros and was ready to roll…
This could only mean one thing; time for the Christmas party trip. This year’s destination was Seville in Spain.
Seville is a stunning city on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, full of history, incredible architecture and streets lined with juicy orange trees.
I arrived midday to blue skies and beaming sunshine, a great change from London’s recent weather. Hopped off the coach with fifty colleagues all buzzing with excitement as we headed to the Fontecruz Hotel.
The view above.
Intricate stained glass windows on the top floor created a striking feature.
I admired the view from my room that overlooked the Seville Cathedral. Spoilt much?
After dumping our bags we were eager to explore the city. Strolled through teeny roads with high buildings on either side until we reached the main square. The gigantic Cathedral stood proudly in the square.
An impressive piece of architecture and the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world. The Cathedral was built to demonstrate the city’s wealth and was originally used as a trading hub.
After working up an appetite we stopped off for heaps of tapas and beers. Eventually headed back to the hotel to dress for the night’s adventures.
Christmas party antics began with a few glasses of champagne in the hotel atrium.
After a presentation and a few more glasses of champagne we were taken into our dining space. Filled with tables beautifully decorated and unique masquerade masks hanging on each chair. Plus fancy dress accessories, trivia cards and a quiz that got extremely competitive. My table were crowned winners, thank goodness!
Dinner included delicious Spanish meats and cheeses. Crayfish starters followed by steaks for the main event. Once we were completely full we distributed our secret Santa gifts, and the madness escalated. After the gifts were unwrapped tables were full of hilarious wigs, cheeky slogan tees, and basically anything inappropriate you could possibly get through airport security.
The mischief continued at a club with our own self-service bar. Dangerous.
Danced until our feet almost fell off and onto the after party at the hotel until the early hours.
