It’s always nice to escape the city and hang out with friends. I recently headed off to Hertford for the weekend, we decided to begin our catch up with a glass or two of wine. Instead of using conventional glasses I opted for this baby.
Equipped with a screw top, ideal for preventing my inevitable spillages.
Mads used this red party cup, perfect for lots of wine.
We tucked into tzakiti and pitta chips, a great alternative to crisps.
After lots of vino we strolled into the town. Stopped along the way for warm cider in a pub where we sat outside wrapped in tartan blankets. Cosy little touch.
We then headed for dinner at popular local restaurant Baan Thitiya. To find someone had claimed to be my friend Mads and was now dining in our seat. We were directed to the ‘wedding room’ and realised the wine had kicked in and found ourselves in the waiting room.

We were then directed to our table and I was intrigued by the mystical window feature, hmmm.
Time to get stuck in, man alive it was good. I chose Massaman curry; tender strips of lamb, cooked with potato in a rich coconut curry sauce. Served with coconut rice and of course more wine to clench the thirst.
Lauren and Mads went for green curry, cooked in coconut milk with a selection of thai herbs and sliced chicken. It was yum-ilicious!
After feasting until we nearly popped we walked up into the town in search for a bar.
Passed many quaint shops, in the heritage town along the way.
Avoided the mushy apples..
Happy with our own booth and a few bottles of prosecco, we danced and laughed until our stomachs hurt. Great escape!
