In traditional interior design standards Altfield hosted a party to celebrate the launch of Pollack’s new collection ‘Rise and Shine.’

We arrived at St James’ Church in Clerkenwell slightly unsure whether we’d arrived at the wrong location until we noticed an Altfield sign. In the darkness we crept passed the Church and headed underneath to the Crypt on the Green where the party was actually taking place.

We entered into a magnificent space, the site being the first nunnery to be built in London back in 1100AD. The Crypt has a stunning vaulted ceiling that was restored in 1993 and provided the perfect setting for Pollack’s ‘Rise and Shine’ collection to be introduced in.

We indulged in champagne and canapés whilst admiring the fabrics that were draped amongst the buildings original rustic brick interior.

One of the most popular fabrics was the ‘Spotted Wool’ formed using melange yarns on a soft fine flannel.

The collection consisted of a range of rich tones and vibrant patterns. Rachel Dorris explained that some of the fabrics originated from sketched doodle form and were carefully developed and intricately adapted by their weavers to create the striking final fabrics.

After appreciating the beautiful pieces the rest of the evening was spent soaking up the ambience in the impressive brick interior and naturally sipping plenty of bubbles.
