Soaking in a traditional roll top bath is definitely a relaxation mode I could get used to. But for the evening event at Drummonds I avoided splishing and splashing in the tub and admired the baths from dry land.
I also discovered that the classic English designs are mastered with a mould that takes over two years to create. All the clay used is locally sourced, reducing traffic for their products.
The beautiful brass elements that we saw glimmering in the showroom, actually take more than a month to make each tap. All the brass products are made with solid brass by hand and use a traditional lost wax process. The traditional process is again timely and requires great skill.
We celebrated with delicious gin based cocktails and some live music.
More cocktails, and plenty of yummy canapés.
It was such a sunny evening on the Kings Road, we eventually spread outside of the showroom enjoying the evening events and admiring their traditional designs.
Before heading home to rub-a-dub, and relax in my own tub!
