My obsession with tea and cakes means life is just that bit sweeter. I headed off giddy like a kid on Christmas morning, struggling to contain my excitement en-route to The Ritz. The perfect day for a spot of afternoon tea in my new favourite shoes, with my bestfriend.
Introducing my Sleeping Princess shoes by Charlotte Olympia. I’ve been dying to debut these shoes for a couple of months now and finally they leave the box.
Dressed in girly attire, we headed out to treat ourselves to the odd cake or two or three.
We arrived a little early for our table so we relaxed in the powder room, reading magazines and gossiping.
Incredible murals laced the walls, with beautiful intricate details that created the perfect fairytale setting.
We then headed over to the elegant salon which is known as the Ritz Palm Court. A space that enticed instant drama with the tremendous ceiling heights, intricate panelling, walls clad in mirror and gilded trellis’. Once we finally reigned our open-jaws back in we ogled over the menu, tough decisions had to be made. If you’re indecisive like me you’d struggle too – seventeen different tea options to choose from. I could of stayed all night.
Served with pretty floral china and stunning silverware, which weighed an absolute tonne. We munched away, catching up and giggling whilst the pianist played melodies in the background. I could get used to this movie setting more often.
We soon tucked into fluffy soft bread finger sandwiches with the tastiest fillings.
T tucked into her favourite part; baked raisin scones which were still warm, layered with heaps of clotted cream and strawberry preserve. Look at her face she loved it!
Mini strawberry cream trifles with a twist. Oh so good.
Our jolly ol’ waiter then greeted us with a cart full of more treats and insisted we try every item he had. Being brought up with good manners, we quickly accepted.
Pistachio tart pinched off the cart.
Before we departed I soaked up the view one last time; romantic birdcage chandeliers, a stunning gold fountain and vessels overflowing with elegant flowers.
Whilst I chilled out in my new chair, T kept up to date on the latest news.
Before we left we admired the luxurious staircase one last time; a bold striking red stair runner, elaborate iron balustrade, fantastic murals and floor to ceiling windows.
Afternoon tea at the Ritz can be booked here: The Ritz Reservations.
The reservation list is usually booked up well in advance, but don’t forget that good things come to those that wait.
