Beauty & the Boutique

One thing us ladies always want is to feel pampered, especially when going for a manicure and pedicure.

I can count endless times I’ve gone in for a pedicure and felt like I’m on a conveyer belt, sat down, rushed about and trying to block out the toxic fumes of nail glue. Then being scurried out the door with toes that are barely dry.

Feeling relaxed? No.

Pampered? I think not.

Well the exciting news is, that is all just a distant memory since stumbling across Sophie Gass.

I had a peek inside the boutique/beauty bar and instantly fell in love. I am a sucker for an elegant interior so couldn’t help but have a wonder. The concept for the boutique is a combination of fashion, home accessories, flowers and nail bar.

As you enter the interior you are greeted with a beautiful console table with stunning jewellery and interior accessories laid out. Striking orchids fill antique vessels and are spread out throughout the boutique complimenting the glamorous items you cannot help but touch.

The floor is a natural soft timber that makes the space feel warm against the neutral tones. There are displays of amazing antiqued silver interior accessories and rows of scented Jo Malone candles.

The walls are all neutral tranquil shades that tie perfectly with the crisp fresh white furniture in the boutique. The tables are angular designs that compliment the clean inviting space that you would pop your hands over for a manicure. The chairs are squishy off-white leather upholstered armchairs, perfect for chillaxing in.

Even the WC kept the chic vibe with a large oval mirror, stone vanity top and a vanity mounted beautiful basin. Plus I couldn’t help but notice the tapware was Gessi’s Tranzpareze tap with an exposed channel on the spout so you can watch the water run through before hitting the basin.

After picking my nail colour from the Essie wall collection, which took a while because of my indecisiveness, I opted for a pretty pink shade.

I sank into my comfy chair with a cup of tea. I felt totally relaxed as I flicked through the latest Vogue and my feet were treated to a full luxurious pedicure.

The beautician spent 40 minutes bringing my feet back to life, whilst I played about on the iPad. The pedicure was a thorough clean, exfoliate, re-shape, cuticle trim, skin remover, massage (the best bit) and paint. My feet have never looked so great, even if I do say so myself. When the beautician finished, I lazed about in my chair letting the polish slowly dry and watched the world go by.

After admiring my toes I was convinced I needed a manicure too. I clearly did not want the pampering to end anytime soon.

Before leaving I had a look through the stunning couture clothes hanging in the boutique and headed off feeling seriously relaxed.

Sophie really knows what us ladies want when it comes to being pampered. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else for my next pedi. The prices are surprisingly reasonable especially for a high-end boutique treatment.

I think it’s time to pamper yourself, check out Sophie Gass.

My sparkling toes are now heading off to the airport and soon to be soaked in a soft sandy paradise.
