I decided I needed to spend the last few days of my trip soaked in the sunshine with evenings sipping on fruity alcoholic concoctions.
My craving for a fun beach atmosphere came true when I hopped on a flight to Boracay.
Jumped into a few crammed tricycles.
Once I finally reached Boracay, I was pretty shattered, I dropped my bags off at a beautiful resort surrounded with pastel orchids and headed straight to White Beach.
I splashed about in the crystal clear waters, bathed in the sun until the heat took over and alternated laying like a starfish in the sea to melting on the sand.
I popped for lunch that consisted of overdosing with mango. Followed by a serving of coconut.
Then went for a massage (my daily ritual) I easily convinced myself it was essential after an exhausting journey to Boracay.
I walked the stretch of the beach that seemed to never end. The beach was full of people playing sports and sailboats floating in the distance. A team played volleyball on the beach; there was a frisbee tournament, Zumba lessons, and people practicing yoga. Impressed with how active everyone was in the boiling heat I chose to watch, sipping on cold shakes.
I relaxed and watched the sunset with a few beers, before heading back to the resort to get cleaned up.

On my next trip out I walked up the beach, which honestly went on for miles, passing BBQs, extravagant buffet displays, bands playing (non-cheesy music) which was a nice change.
Despite it being the evening it was still roasting and I made a few stops as I passed the bars. My next stop was at a bar booming with descent tunes, I helped myself to buy one get one free cocktails a happy hour which magically lasts all day and night. All day happy hours should be a concept adopted in London bars. Asap.
I met a group of lovely girls from Manila who despite the great distances we live in had countless similarities. Girls that like to travel, party and work hard. We had a hilarious evening hunting for places to party on the beach which was packed full of young beautiful partygoers.
My new friends informed me that it was ‘Laboracay weekend’ basically spring break for Filipinos. Thousands of people had travelled here to party; DJs had been flown in from all over to make it the best Laboracay to date. To make it even more interesting it turns out that hundreds of partygoers spend months in advance planning Laboracay outfits, Laboracay diets, Laboracay bodies all in preparation for a huge blow out. Once the heat and alcohol took over I headed back to mine.
I had a long lay in and went in search of breakfast to a place called Sunny Side decked out with yellow Eames chairs and industrial light pendants.
Tucked into poached eggs, fruit shakes and made friends with a cool guy from Manila who was taking part in the Frisbee tournament.
After watching the first games, I headed off for my last massage of the trip and then to meet the girls. We tucked into jelly style mango cheesecakes that were delicious.

Before checking out the stalls and watching my last picture perfect sunset.
An incredible trip that made some great memories with old friends and new friends. The mixture of sunsets and sea life has caused some seriously itchy feet.
Back to London I go.
