Ever since Holly Hunt’s first European showroom landed in the heart of Mayfair, London based interior designers spiralled into frenzy with many clients requesting a ‘Holly Hunt House.’
Holly’s pieces are leading the industry with luxury furniture, lighting, textiles and leathers that ooze elegance in an understated but sophisticated approach. If you’ve got a decent budget (or your client has) you’ll have a field day picking pieces and by the end you’ll have one seriously hot house.
The showroom promotes a slick display of well-executed furniture showcasing the craftsmanship and great level of quality throughout the space.
To celebrate the collaboration with Christian Astuguevieille the showroom was given a bright new look with an injection of bursting bright colours. If you’re ready to see something completely unique and quirky charm I think you’ll find the collection pretty fascinating.
The space was transformed from its usual crisp designs and was taken over with an artistic approach.
Christian Astuguevieille is a French designer and aims for his pieces to challenge users senses mainly through touch.
As I arrived instantly I was surprised by the neon shades that lit my eyes, in the form of the Louxac Stool. The piece is available in popping shades and was produced using natural rope and painted cotton cord in colours that almost resemble a set of UV glow sticks.
Located behind the stools was the Classo Sofa upholstered in soft furnishings in monochromatic abstract textiles.
The Champ Chest has to be one of the most awesome items of furniture – ever. The piece felt like it came alive with it’s top surface resembling strands of hair standing on end, the eccentric chest was finished in an eye catching red just to add an extra shock factor.
The Moiste Chair presented the designers sculptural influence produced again in cotton cord, adding a new perspective to interior design. Astuguevieille is recognised for his ability to create interactive furniture as opposed to traditional functional pieces. The forms and materials definitely attracted users to touch, test and take in the items of furniture as art forms.
Afridans Stool was one of my favourite pieces with its majestic characteristics, the stool added intrigue to the space with its combination of textures.
I loved how the stool appeared to be wearing a Hawaiian grass hula. I couldn’t resist sitting on the stool and attempting a little hip shaking hula dance.
I admired some of Alison Berger’s hand blown crystal pendants that have an architectural quality to them and seem to look fantastic in any interior. Suspended at varying heights the lighting has a simplistic but sexy feel.
Holly’s well-known Ring Table stood out amongst the bustling crowds and was accompanied with the striking Spanning Hanging Light in a slick metal finish.

We perched on the mohair sofa that was surprisingly soft, and found ourselves stroking the sofa like it was a pet. Holly’s showroom has a relaxed vibe, you’ll feel almost at home lounging on the sofa (with your feet up), but if you’re wearing black steer clear as this beloved pet also moults.
Subtly we dusted ourselves off and checked out the gorgeous Counterweight Chandelier designed by Alison Berger, which was inspired by Galileo’s gravitational pulley.
The lighting was produced with a series of crystal wheels, weights and hand blown pendants wrapped with a metal banding adding a final decorative touch. The sections can be lowered or raised creating varying movements for this artistic piece.
The rest of the evening was spent soaking in Holly’s incredible collection, next time you’re in Mayfair you should definitely take a trip to the showroom – I guarantee you’ll fall in love with a thing or two and will be dreaming of your own Holly’s house.
