One of the hottest days of summer hit London and rather than hopping on the crammed underground to work, I headed off for a day of full on indulgence at House Festival.
I originally decided I wasn’t going to do a post this year after sharing a jam-packed adventure at House Festival last year. But once I reached the grassy lands this idea quickly changed and it seemed only right to snap one of my favourite days of the year.
House festival is hosted by the Soho House Group, tickets sell out extremely fast and there’s a reason why. I’m placing my bets on the great music and all you can eat food or drink that’s included in the ticket price, because quite frankly what more could you possibly want?
I popped on a light summery dress and whizzed to Marble Hill House in Richmond, where the 66acres of land is used for the festival. Entered through a balloon and ribbon cave into the buzzing festival space.
I made my way over to the George Smith tent to test out their stunning furniture collection and thank my hosts for my invite.
We talked all things interiors over coconut cocktails – which had fresh coconut shavings sprinkled on top. Before heading off into the crowds to explore, we exchanged which performers we were excited to see with Chaka Khan being top on most people’s lists.
We began our feasting with a bottle of bubbles and fresh oysters drizzled in Tabasco sauce.
Followed by a helping of seafood heaven, accompanied with beef, chorizo, sweet potato, asparagus and basically anything else I could pile on my plate.
Now that’s not a plate of food you tend to associate with a festival right?
Not only were we blessed with great sunshine but some pretty amazing performances starting with Chaka Khan bellowing ‘I’m every woman’ which instantly empowered us ladies into strutting our dance moves.
After all that singing and hip shaking it was time for pudding of course.
In the form of doughnuts, we couldn’t make our decision as to what flavour we wanted so naturally had a bite of each. Sharing is caring after all.

Next up we listened to James Bay sing and strum away, the crowd got pretty energized with Hold Back the River.
The big kid that I am had to check out the fairground, avoiding the dodgems after the food intake was my moment of wisdom and instead climbed up to the Helter Skelter for slide with great views of the festival grounds.
After listening to Jack Garratt’s awesome set we bumped into the man himself and chatted away until the bar called my name.
With plenty of cocktails to clench our thirst we jumped away to The Vaccines, which were very reminiscent of my University days dancing about on the sticky student union floor.
The rest of the day involved mouth-watering bites of beef brisket, Pizza Pilgrims, several trips to the bar, some celeb spotting and of course rocking about to the Pet Shop Boys.
One of the best days of 2015 – already daydreaming of the next one!
