Sunny days in London deserve a celebration; the weather changes so dramatically this time of year you’ve got to just embrace it whilst it’s short lived.With that in mind, I saw the slightest pop of sunshine, grabbed my sandals and whizzed out for a day of indulgence.
To start the day, I joined forces with two of my favourite ladies for lunch and a cheeky bit of feasting. We headed over to Granger and Co in Notting Hill; famed for its sunny Sydney influences it seemed fitting on such a lovely day. The restaurant has bright yellow awnings that we admired for a period of time, as there is always a queue down the road. But you know the saying ‘good things come to those that wait.’
After a fairly short wait we headed into the classical interior; finished with timber cladding on the ceiling, neutral tones and stunning faceted light pendants. The interior has that laid back and welcoming vibe mastered, just what one needs on a day off.
Lauren opted for a beastly crisp pork belly brioche roll smothered with chilli jam.
Then the bigger bad boy beef burger was mum’s choice, which was delicious.
But the real winner was the iconic ricotta hotcakes, piled on top of bananas and coated with honeycomb butter. Seriously mouth-watering goodness that’ll leave you craving more the moment it’s gone.
I guess it’s not the most conventional thing to take photos in a powder room, although the entire space was clad in mirror panelling and surely that’s just screaming out for attention. Even the internal cubicle doors provided a reflective wall to stare at. However, the panelling divisions surprisingly helped create a simple but quaint feel to the space and were rather effective.
Feeling greedy we couldn’t help but select some sweet treats, hefty pots of good old English tea and some dangerously indulgent hot chocolate.
In a bid to walk off some of our sins we went for a stroll. Every road you turn down in Notting Hill has something unexpected to look at; being a mixture of bohemian, affluent and really diverse area it has many unique influences.
Notting Hill is such a charming area; you can’t help but fall in love with the character of the buildings and the carefree atmosphere the area seems to boost.
Everything feels chirpy with the bold bursts of colour brightening most exteriors. I couldn’t imagine anything happier than living in a road with multi-coloured neighbours and a house that screams energy from the outside.
We wandered through Portobello Market admiring various antiques and unusual findings and weaving in-between tourists.

After strolling around for a few hours we were ready to put our feet up. With that in mind we paid a visit to Sophie Gass, my favourite boutique in the area. Make sure you check the boutique interior out at Beauty and the Boutique.
I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend an afternoon, relaxing with more tea, flicking through the latest Vogue, Tatler and House & Gardens magazines whilst being pampered with my two favourite ladies.
A day treating yourself will always be dreamy!
